Gimbal Wins Silicon Beach Startup of the Year

Two weeks ago, we entered the Beverly Hilton as finalists for the Silicon Beach Startup Award at the ThinkLA IDEA Awards Gala and left…tipsy. But for a good reason. We were celebrating our win along with other powerhouse media, marketing, and advertising companies. 

While winning that trophy did feel good (I mean, we carried it around all night), it was less about the trophy and more about the night itself. From the cocktail reception with people streaming in dressed to the nines, clinking and catching up, to the dinner and awards ceremony, all the way through to the glamorous poolside after-party. It was a night to be in attendance, regardless if you were up for an award or not.

Speaking of attendance, there was so much raw talent in the room, it was electrifying. The agencies, the brands, the marketers, the creators…the ones exemplifying the best Southern California has to offer.

As far as the awards, there were three main categories: Campaign Achievement Awards, Individual Awards, and Company Achievement Awards.

The awards themselves ranged from Best Video Campaign, Best Cause Marketing Campaign, Client of the Year, Partner of the Year, Media/Full Service Agency of the Year, and of course Silicon Beach Startup of the Year (among others).

Judging consisted of three rounds with the final winners selected by key advertising, brand, and tech executives outside of the L.A. market.

We shared the podium with companies such as Spotify, RPA, Snapchat, 72andSunny, and more. For the full list of winners, visit ThinkLA’s event recap page here.

It was a night of truly celebrating The Power Of Us. It’s evident that the innovation within the media, marketing, and advertising industry in Southern California is profound and we could not be more proud of what we’ve achieved, let alone be honored alongside companies that we look up to and are inspired by everyday.

So I’ll end with the tagline of the event:

“Cheers to the dreamers, the doers, the makers, the risk takers. Here’s to the Best of Us.”
